Hi, I'm Julie, Chief Executive Empress

of my little apple green design studio.

Welcome to my blog!

When I'm not out visiting a client or searching for just the right  product for a project, I can probably be found in my happy little studio (painted the perfect shade of green), busy drawing up new ideas for a cool kitchen or a "spa-licious" bathroom. I like to share the fun stuff I find along the way!

My collection of 2017's creative Christmas trees

Have you decorated your Christmas tree yet? Mine’s not up, but there's still a little time, right?!

Whether you need a little inspiration or a little laugh this season, here’s something fun for ya. I’ve put together my second annual Creative Christmas Trees collection, and there's some unusual ones. It’s amazing what you can do with some gutter guard or a bunch of neckties!

To start off, for my friends who are fans of the ocean, here's a nautical themed tree complete with an anchor topper and rope garland. Beachy keen! (Sorry, that pun just slipped out like that. I won't let it happen again)

And from the land of sugar plum fairies, a Suess-esque lollipop covered tree in candy colors. (Is there actually a TREE in there?!)

Rustic, farmhouse style is so popular these days and here's a homey little tree that you can make from some branches and twine. And it doesn't take up ANY floor space.

And speaking of rustic, the craze for pallets seems to be going strong. Shanty 2 Chic put together this decorative tree from scraps of wood and natural themed ornaments for a country styled holiday.

Here's another wall mounted tree by Lowe's that's colorful and whimsical, not to mention apple green - - all three things that are right up MY alley!

This might be my favorite - - a very cleverly packed bookshelf with strategically placed "greenery." SO unexpected.

If you like a real tree at Christmas but have no space, hang a photo of one instead. This caught my eye because it's just pretty. It's kinda hard to tell, but it looks like the lights were actually attached to the banner after it was hung up.

It's hard to find someone wearing a necktie these days, so here's more than you might see in a year, all in one place. What a fun idea for a men's clothing store!

Here's a mod little tree, also done by Lowe's. This one wins the prize for best use of home building materials: vinyl gutter guards!

I've saved the smallest and most delicious trees for last, made from tiny little brownie bites and strawberries. It's not a holiday in my book without some chocolate!

Those are my votes for creative Christmas trees this year. How about you? Do you decorate outside of the box? Leave me a comment about your favorite tree ornaments. I'd love to hear from you!
