Are you ready for this? Gold, yes, I said GOLD(!), is back in fashion for the home again!
Most people, when you mention gold decor, shudder and think of the harsh, cold, brass of 80’s light fixtures and cabinet hardware, or your granny’s antiqued dark gold lamps.
Well, I was with you until I started seeing how it could dress up a room. The new gold is softer and warmer, and oh so luxurious. It’s showing up in furniture and hardware and in just about every kind of accessory imaginable, so you can add a bit of glamour to any room of the house.
Come on, and I’ll take you on a little tour and you can see what you think. It might change your mind about how you think about the return of gold!
Gold in the kitchen
Here are a couple of beautiful kitchens with gold faucets, cabinet hardware and lighting. And notice the bar stools are framed with it too.

Gold accents in the bathroom
And I think these bathrooms are stunning. Again, gold plumbing fixtures, cabinet hardware, and accessories. And even gold grout!

Gold shines in the living room
Just small touches of gold here and there - - a gold table, some accessories, and even gold in the fabric - - can create an up-to-date and charming little living room. This one is from Style Me Pretty, and if I could plop down in here, you’d have a really hard time getting me out!
Gold in the office too!
And don’t forget the home office, or your desk at work. This is actually where I first saw all the gold showing up - - in all the glam office supplies online, from staplers to scissors file holders. A pretty and sophisticated space to work, whatever your style, makes it a heckuva lot easier to show up and get something done.

Gold with just about anything
Gold mixes well with almost any color, but you can expect to see it with navy, pink, and gray, ESPECIALLY gray. And I can predict with some authority (wink wink!) that you'll see plenty of it as a sophisticated accent in the Street of Dreams this year. :-)
And if you'd like to shop for some online, I found plenty of fun accessories, furniture, lamps, etc on sites like Joss & Main, Wayfair, and Target to mention just a few.
I could go on and on about the new gold trend in accessories, but we all have stuff to do today!
