Hi, I'm Julie, Chief Executive Empress

of my little apple green design studio.

Welcome to my blog!

When I'm not out visiting a client or searching for just the right  product for a project, I can probably be found in my happy little studio (painted the perfect shade of green), busy drawing up new ideas for a cool kitchen or a "spa-licious" bathroom. I like to share the fun stuff I find along the way!

RANDOM NOTES FROM MY LITTLE

apple green studio

A room design for my youngest client EVER

I thought I’d give you a peek this week at a bedroom design I’m working on for my youngest client ever - - a little 4th grader named Anya. (The names have been changed to protect the cute and innocent!)

She and her family are getting ready to move into a new house, and I’m helping pick out furniture and accessories for her busy, working mom who has too much on her plate right now. So lucky Anya and her sister get brand new bedrooms, and lucky me gets to create them!

It’s always great if you have an inspiration piece to start with, and since that sweet Martha Stewart bedding above was already in the works, we took off from there.

The first step was furniture, and we chose a white bed, nightstand, and desk with clean simple lines that would be a nice contrast with the soft minty green walls In her new room. Since this desk has gold accents, I’m pulling that in in a few places around the room too.

After the furniture and bedding it was easy to start filling in the details: this colorful inspiring art print for example.

Then I found throw pillows in mint and gold, a cozy blanket for the bed that I had monogrammed with her letter “A,” a lamp that looks like a gold paperclip, and a furry bean bag chair to finish it all off. And what kid wouldn’t want a furry bean bag chair?!!

I totally relied on Pinterest to collect and share ideas with Mom and keep an eye on how things were coming together visually. Then when we could see we were happy with the whole plan, it was incredibly easy to click a link and go directly to a website to place an order.

Everything's pulled together now and (drumroll, please) here's what her new room is going to look like:

The two girls are both fans of Pottery Barn Teen so a lot of these items were purchased there.

Sweet, huh?! She's seen pictures and she already loves it! They move in to the new house in a couple weeks and I’ll share photos of Anya’s room when they’re all settled in. I can’t wait to see it myself!

BTW, maybe YOU are too busy and working and don’t have the time or patience or know how to tackle the new room YOU want so badly. You're not a 4th grader, but I can help you just like I helped Anya and her mom: collect design ideas, shop for everything, and set it all up for you.

Call or email me right away to get started on your beautiful new room!
